our founder..

With Football being brought back to the College in 1999, Dr. Earnest McNealy (Former President,) brought in Dr. Thomas E. Lyle in 2000 to build a marching band program. Lyle had over 30 years of experience as Director of Bands at Alabama State University. He was known for his professionalism and high expectations set for his students. Over 20 years later, his vision for the Blue Pride Marching Band continues to live on by way of his coined motto, that “Pain is Temporary, but Blue Pride is Forever..” The Band Building at Stillman College bears his name as the “Thomas E. Lyle Band Center.” Dr. Lyle transitioned peacefully in his home in June of 2011.

We will cultivate lasting friendships and uphold an exemplary image on and off the field through our shared passion, motivation, and pride.

creed

We, the members of the Blue Pride,

Must give more than most,

To be greater than the rest,

And never second best

To rush like the Warrior,

By day and by night,

Living to play, playing to live

Each day bringing music to life

Oh! Honor the navy blue and old gold!

Through strength and by valor, upon the Shield we behold,

The roar of the Tiger, and the might of his bawl!

Blue Pride, Power, and Victory over ALL!
